Become a Member Agency

Organizations must meet the following criteria and approval from the Allied Arts Board of Directors.

Allied Arts is currently NOT accepting applications for new Member Agencies.

  • The organization must have its primary place of business within the six-county SMSA used by the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce.
  • A mission that clearly delineates an arts or cultural purpose.
  • 501(c)(3) tax exempt status, as determined by the IRS.
  • Minimum 5 years of continuous operation.
  • Audited financial statements for organizations with budgets of $300,000 or more; financial statements reviewed by an independent accountant for organizations with budgets between $100,000 and $300,000; annual financial statements for organizations with budgets below $100,000.
  • Form 990 for organizations required to file.
  • Organizations may not have run deficit budgets for the three consecutive years prior to application to Allied Arts.
  • Volunteer board of directors that meets regularly throughout the year, on at least a quarterly basis.
  • At the initial time of application, organizations must provide three years history of audience participation (tickets sold, event attendance, memberships sold) and financial statements.

Organizations that will not be eligible for funding are:

  • Organizations with a primary focus toward historic preservation.
  • Institutions of higher education or individual departments of colleges and universities.
  • Public broadcasting media, radio and television stations.
  • Churches or church-affiliated programs receiving a significant portion of their base support from a church or religious organization.
  • Festivals or other one-time, annual, date-specified activities.
  • Governmental institutions, i.e. public libraries, park and recreation facilities, schools, etc.
  • Individual artists.
