30-Sep-2009

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., Sept. 17, 2009 − Allied Arts is pleased to announce its receipt of a $1,000 grant to allow president Deborah McAuliffe Senner to attend the national United Arts Fund Leadership Retreat next month. Thanks to support from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation and its Capacity Building Program, McAuliffe Senner will represent Oklahoma at the conference and share best practices and leadership insights with other United Arts Fund executives.

“Attending the United Arts Fund Leadership Retreat will allow me to learn from top arts organizations across the country and adapt their successful activities to advance our local arts community,” said McAuliffe Senner. “We appreciate the support of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation for helping make Allied Arts’ presence at the conference possible.”

Taking place in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 22-23, the annual United Arts Fund Leadership Retreat brings together top executives from leading United Arts Fund organizations. This year’s conference will tackle pertinent topics for the arts community, including: raising funds in a troubled economy, identifying the role of United Arts Funds in cultural planning, fostering the next generation of arts enthusiasts and better engaging the corporate sector in support of the arts. This will be McAuliffe Senner’s first time attending the conference.
