Allied Arts

As the advocate for the arts in central Oklahoma, Allied Arts raises awareness of the arts, promotes arts education and mobilizes support for arts and cultural organizations. A single donation to Allied Arts reaches several nonprofit arts organizations, each committed to making the arts accessible to all. Allied Arts is Oklahoma’s only United Arts Fund.

Allied Arts benefits more than 20 nonprofit arts organizations that represent a wide range of art forms - music, theatre, visual arts and dance - and play an important part in the cultural renaissance transforming central Oklahoma. Each year, Allied Arts conducts a community-wide campaign to raise critical funds for the nonprofit arts organizations it supports. All sectors of the community - including corporations, foundations, nonprofit organizations and individuals - contribute to the effort to advance the arts. In 2013, Allied Arts raised more than $3.3 million – the most successful effort in Allied Arts history. Since our founding in 1971, Allied Arts has mobilized more than $50 million for central Oklahoma’s arts community.

Allied Arts allocates funds to its member agencies. They use these critical funds in support of their operating, programmatic and educational budgets. Allied Arts funding helps these organizations keep ticket prices low so that more members of the community have access to the arts. Agencies also use campaign funds to provide innovative, hands-on arts education to schoolchildren across the state. In 2013, Allied Arts allocated more than $2.45 million to help ensure a dynamic, sustainable arts community.  Allied Arts also supports up to 15 additonal nonprofit arts organizations each year through grant opportunities.

In addition to the campaign, Allied Arts conducts marketing and advocacy activities to promote the central Oklahoma arts community. We also provide fundraising, technical and organizational management support to help keep our member agencies in strong financial and operating standing.
