Have it Your Way
We decided to “have it our way” and take a staff field trip to Burger King for lunch yesterday. What did we find when we got there? The trays were covered with a special OKCityCard tray liner! OK, so we knew they would be there, but we did want to see them in person!
The tray liners display the Burger King offer which is a 2-for-1 sandwich. This goes for Whoppers, chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers and the like. Think you may not use this offer? Think again! Lindsay and I were sandwich buddies and ate for super cheap (half price for each of us)! Or you could be like our Finance Director, John. He orders both sandwiches just because it saves him $5. His reasoning - why not eat 2 sandwiches when one’s free?
This offer is good at 8 Burger King locations. Click here to find one near you!

Angye, Lindsay, Price and I proudly display our tray liners. I also want to point out my sweet Iron Man 2 cup and the fries, which were other highlights of the trip.
April Young Patrons Event – Happy Hour at the Tower Recap
Last night, Allied Arts hosted more than 75 young professionals at Dr. Ed Shadid’s home in the Founders Tower.
During the “Happy Hour at the Tower” event, guests enjoyed live music by pianist David Hillis and received a preview of some of the artwork to be featured at the ARTini art auction.
In between mingling and enjoying the penthouse views, the young professionals also learned about Allied Arts’ Young Patrons group from current members.
Below are a few photos from the event, but check out others on our Flickr page. If you’d like more information about Young Patrons, please visit: www.alliedartsokc.com/young_patrons.
Casi and J.W. Peters (Casi and J.W. are Young Patrons co-chairs with Zack Zuhdi)
Adrienne Ahpeatone, Misty Garrett and Darren Holland (Misty and Darren are co-chairing ARTini and Adrienne is on the ARTini committee)
Josh Parsons, Chris Browner and Derek Sparks (thanks for coming guys!)
Mary Margaret Knight and Tiffany McGowen (Mary Margaret is one of our campaign volunteer superstars and we LOVED that she brought Tiffany to the event!)
CityCard Spotlight: Bricktown Brewery
On Today’s Center Stage – Bricktown Brewery
With all of this past weekend’s excitement downtown – and more to come with the Thunder game on Friday, we must remind you of Bricktown Brewery’s CityCard offer. All CityCard holders receive 2-for-1 entrees at the brewery (isn’t that incredible?!).
I love the Bricktown Brewery as a true-to-its-roots Oklahoma restaurant. It’s the perfect place to take guests or catch dinner and a brew before cheering on an Oklahoma team (Go Redhawks and Thunder!). However, with the restaurant’s pool tables and games, hanging out at the Bricktown Brewery could be a night out in itself!
I’m a salad fanatic, so I always get the Crispy Fried Chicken Salad. My husband is a burger and beer type of guy, so he rotates between the many burger selections on the menu.
Be sure to stop by the Bricktown Brewery this week and flash your CityCard. For all of you downtown employees, it’s a great lunch stop!
Check out the Bricktown Brewery’s menu here: http://www.bricktownbrewery.com/menu.html. And get your CityCard at www.okcitycard.com.

The Place to Be This Weekend - Festival Family Activities
From the Thunder to the Festival of the Arts to the Memorial Marathon, there is so much excitement in OKC right!
This weekend is definitely THE WEEKEND to be downtown. And what better place to hang out then at the Festival of the Arts?
There are so many family-friendly activities happening at the festival, below are just a few of the must-do’s and must-see’s for you and your family:
• Creation Station lets everyone create a work of art. Children and adults can participate in this larger-than-life, interactive art exhibit.
• At the Young-at-Art Mart Festival artists sell original works of art priced from $.50 to $5.
• At the Children's Art Field children can complete three art projects for $2. The projects include: Spirit Sticks, a creative wand or stick that children can decorate, Fling a Ring Thing, a glider made of straw and card stock that soars through the air, and Filtered Art, marker art on coffee filters that become small paintings when sprayed with water.
• The Community Arts Showcase tent features artwork made by children across the city in the Arts Council of Oklahoma City's Arts After School program and artwork made by teens from the Teen Advisory Council.
• See live art demonstrations and learn about the creative process behind making art at Artful Experience.
• Another popular attraction is Pottery Place. Children and adults select, create, and fire a pot or vase using the ancient Oriental technique of RAKU. Prices range from $5 to $50.
• And of course, face painting for $1 the north end of the Crystal Bridge.
Most of the above activities are located in the Youth Plaza on the east side of the Myriad Botanical Gardens. And don’t forget – the Festival of the Arts is free to get in!

Final Word Friday
There is a power in everything; it is the job of the artist to determine it and express it.
- Mencius, 372-289 B.C.

Artist Robert Hurst captures the power of Kevin Durant. Hurst's work and more Thunder art can be found at Images Gallery: The Art of Sport at Spring Creek Shopping Center in Edmond. Receive 15% off your purchase with your OKCityCard. http://www.imagesgalleryok.com/
Thunder UP!
THR3E BY THR3E
The Oklahoma City Ballet is putting on a one-of-a-kind production with three world premiere ballets. Choreographers Lee-Wei Chao, Helen Pickett and OKC Ballet’s Artistic Director, Robert Mills have each created pieces that are sure to wow audiences. “This is going to be a show like none other you’ve seen before!” Mills writes.
Another cool thing about this show is that you can go “Inside a Choreographic Mind” through a lecture by the featured choreographers. The lecture will be held in the South Lobby of the Civic Center Music Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. It is free to ticket-holders, but please RSVP to Alissa Huskey at ahuskey@okcballet.com and let her know that you’re coming.
As always, you can get 2-for-1 admission to the ballet when you use your OKCityCard, so hurry and get your tickets!
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to see three original works. The Ballet is creating a fresh, new dynamic in the dance world in Oklahoma City. It is obvious that they’re on the move!

Won't You Be My Neighbor?
Allied Arts is in such a cool location – right at 10th and Broadway, above Coffee Slingers (1015 N. Broadway in OKC). The exciting thing is that the office across the hall from us is available!
Here are the details:
• 3,921 rentable square feet
• Newly remodeled contemporary urban design.
• Large open spaces with lots of natural light.
• Great location in the heart of Automobile Alley near restaurants and shops
Holler at us if you want to see the space…it has such a cool loft vibe. And what makes this deal better? Our landlord Steve Mason is building a rooftop area for his tenants to use.
Below are a few concepts for the rooftop garden. It is going to be very LA…we can’t wait to use it for events!
