Will you "Chip in for the Arts"?
On Wednesday, June 16, 2010 military and civilian golf enthusiasts will “chip in for the arts” at Allied Arts annual golf tournament.
Held at Tinker Air Force Base, the Chip in for the Arts tournament gathers more than 140 players to support Central Oklahoma arts programs through golf.
This year’s tournament – presented by Northrop Grumman – features numerous player prizes, as well as opportunities to win on the green through hole-in-one, longest drive and closest to the hole games. Also, players will have the opportunity to participate in a raffle for golf, entertainment and art prizes.
Registration is $150 per civilian, or $600 for a team of four, and includes lunch, green fees, beverage cart and an awards and appetizers reception. Special rates for military officers apply.
To register, or for more information, click the events icon on the Allied Arts home page.

A team from Ernst & Young won last time...will they win again? Sign up to play and you'll find out!
Don't Be a Dead Beat - Go to the deadCenter Film Festival
I am so pumped about the deadCENTER Film Festival. It’s just 16 days away!
Here’s the scoop: deadCENTER screens more than a hundred independent films over a five day period in June in seven downtown Oklahoma City locations. Beyond the screenings, deadCENTER Film Festival hosts a professional panel series and a screenwriting competition.
More than 10,000 attendees are expected to check out the films – totally fitting since it is the 10th year of the festival!
What’s even better than seeing so many amazing works of film art right here in OKC? Getting them at a discount! With your CityCard, you receive a free All-Access pass (that’s a savings of $125) when you buy one for a friend (or yourself).
For discount information, check out www.okcitycard.com. For more details on the deadCENTER Film Festival, including a full schedule, visit http://www.deadcenterfilm.org/.
For major props, who can tell me why the film festival is called “deadCenter?”

CityCard Spotlight: Dunkin' Donuts
On Today’s Center Stage – Dunkin’ Donuts
Weather like today makes me want to stay at home, curl up with a blanket and enjoy a hot beverage. Which got me thinking – who offers coffee discounts on the CityCard?
The first one that jumped out at me was Dunkin’ Donuts. CityCard holders get a free medium coffee with the purchase of 1 dozen donuts.
When I lived in LA, my East Coast friends raved about Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. They insisted that it was the best option out there. Since I’m not too much of a coffee drinker, I’ll let you conduct your own taste test.
However, I must admit that I am a fan of donuts and Dunkin’s are G-O-O-D. I think I’ll strike up a deal with my hubby where he’ll get the coffee and I’ll get the dozen donuts. Kidding.
Be safe out there this afternoon! And use your CityCard! www.okcitycard.com for details.

Shopper Alert!
Hey ladies (and gents), this weekend there’s a shopping event like you’ve never experienced. Nosey Parker (of shopping guidebook fame) is hosting Oklahoma City’s first “Shop Outside the Box” event. Here’s the deal:
Who: Shoppers of all ages!
What: Shop Outside the Box. It’s like a treasure hunt! Just follow the map of Nosey Parker’s featured stores, check off that you visited the store and leave the map at the last store you visit.
When: Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22
Where: Any and all of Nosey Parker’s featured stores – locations in Oklahoma City, Edmond and Norman
Why: You can win fabulous prizes! A Nosey Parker guidebook will be give to each shopper at her first stop. Everyone who visits 50% of the stores on the maps will be entered to win a grand prize.
To download and print your treasure map, visit Nosey Parker here.
Why is Allied Arts promoting this event, you ask? Because it’s a great time for you to have fun using your OKCityCard! Lots of Nosey Parker stores are also OKCityCard partners, so you’ll be able to save as you shop. You’ll also need some nourishment to get you through the day, so you can stop at any of our restaurant partners along the way. For a complete and up-to-date list of CityCard partners, visit www.okcitycard.com.
Get the latest news on "Shop Outside the Box" at www.noseyparker.net or follow her on facebook or twitter @NoseyParkerOKC. I hope you're ready to shop 'til you drop!

On Today's Center Stage - The French Cowgirl
Let me introduce you to my one-stop gift shop, The French Cowgirl! I stop in whenever I can (so often that the French Cowgirls themselves know my name) and always use my OKCityCard to get 10% off.
Like I said, I get tons of gifts at French Cowgirl because I know I can always find something for the person I’m shopping for. I’ve gotten Christmas ornaments, picture frames, engagement gifts and jewelry for friends and family. In fact, I don’t think I’ve bought a gift from a store other than The French Cowgirl since I discovered it! So if you’re planning on inviting me to your birthday party you should expect to receive a gift wrapped in a brown paper bag with bandana tissue paper (it’s a French Cowgirl signature).
The French Cowgirl has a unique selection of clothing, home décor and just plain fun things. You never know what you’ll find! Check out their sundresses and cute party supplies for spring birthdays and showers. I promise they won’t let you down!

Merci to you, French Cowgirl, for having such fabulous things.
The ARTini Aftermath!
Whew! We had one heck of a night Saturday night. ARTIni was AMAZING! Hundreds of guests enjoyed martinis from 10 different restaurants, more than 30 pieces of art and dancing withThe Groove Merchants.
Props to the restaurants for their amazing spirit. We saw everything from “Back to the Future” themed martinis (full of pop rocks, I might add!) to Roman-inspired cocktails. But, Deep Fork’s Alice in Wonderland martinis stole the show, winning both the Best ARTini and People’s Choice awards.
Congrats to Deep Fork Grill and thank you to all of the restaurants, artists, raffle donors and guests who participated and attended ARTini this year.
We’ll post photos soon and announce a total raised ASAP!

Kudos to Deep Fork Grill!
