Keep it Cool with Ticket Thursday

Bailey Gordon - Thursday, August 05, 2010

If you’re brave enough to head out in this heat, here’s a list of artsy activities for you to enjoy this weekend.  Let’s hope for that cold front to move in – then it might be 98 degrees instead of 104.  Cold front or not, enjoy outdoor evening performances when it’s a bit cooler or spend your time in the air conditioning at the Civic Center or a museum.  Trust me – the Museum of Art’s A/C will keep you much cooler than the pool.  Here’s what’s going on in OKC:

Lindsay McIntyre - Wednesday, August 04, 2010

Hi guys,

I'm SO sad to say that I'll be leaving Allied Arts next week for a new opportunity. It was such a difficult decision to leave this fabulous place, but I'm excited to spread my arts advocacy at a new place in OKC.

What this means is - there's a spot open at Allied Arts. For all you job seekers out there, below is the job description and application details. Please feel free to shoot me an email if you have ANY questions about the job or Allied Arts in general. lindsay.mcintyre@alliedartsokc.com

Good luck to those that apply!

We Interrupt This Blog to Say - THANK YOU!

Lindsay McIntyre - Monday, August 02, 2010
Hi all,

We wanted to take a moment and say a HUGE THANK YOU to all who have responded to helping the arts organizations affected by June's Stage Center flooding.

Many individuals, corporations and organizations rallied to provide office and art supplies to outfit the six displaced arts groups in their temporary offices.

In particular, thank you to:
  • Devon, Chesapeake and the Junior League for dropping off supplies
  • Hobby Lobby for giving arts supplies
  • BancFirst for donating computers
  • Edmond Women's Club for donating fabric and aprons
  • All of the individuals who gave through the 2010 Arts Flood Emergency Fund

Below are a few photos from a recent office supply "shopping" meeting we had at the Allied Arts office. Representatives from the six organizations could come by our offices and pick out whatever supplies they needed.

You'll see the Arts Council's fearless leader, Peter Dolese, picking up supplies...a special thank you to him for working so diligently on coordinating the future of the Stage Center!

These arts groups are still in need of help. Please considering making a donation.
